1. Responsible materials

We deliberately choose raw materials that are both strong and ethically responsible.

• FSC®-certified Bamboo:
  For our bamboo items we use material carrying the official FSC label. This is crucial, as it guarantees that the bamboo comes from responsibly managed forests. It protects the ecosystem and ensures good conditions for the people who work there. Bamboo is also a type of grass that regrows extremely quickly after harvesting — a perfect renewable alternative to wood.
• Recyclable PP Plastic:
  Where we need plastic, we deliberately choose polypropylene (PP). This is one of the safest and strongest plastics in the world. It's wear-resistant, doesn't tear easily, and can be recycled excellently into new raw material at the end of its life.

2. 'Buy Once, Enjoy Forever'

The most sustainable choice you can make is to buy new things less often. That's why lifespan is our most important measure. We don't design 'disposable products,' but items that can withstand daily life in a busy household.

• Robust design: Sturdy constructions that don't wobble after a month of use.
• Timeless aesthetics: Designs that aren't sensitive to fast trends, so you won't tire of them quickly.

3. Smarter packaging & logistics

Shipping packages has an impact. That's why we make our logistics process as efficient as possible to reduce our footprint:

• Material reduction through efficient packaging: We'd rather not ship air. We try to size our boxes as closely as possible to the product. This directly leads to a significant reduction in cardboard and filler material. It also allows delivery vans to be loaded more efficiently, saving trips.
• Plastic-free where possible: We avoid plastic in our packaging as much as possible and choose unbleached, recycled cardboard that you can simply put out with the paper recycling.

4. A second chance through the thrift store

Unfortunately, many returned products in e-commerce are destroyed. We think that's a shame and unnecessary. At BUDDLEY we give usable returns a second life.

This way we prevent waste and contribute to a circular society where everyone has access to good products.

5. Our promise

Sustainability isn't a final destination, but an ongoing process. We keep critically examining our supply chain and are continuously in dialogue with partners to make production processes cleaner and shorten transport routes.
